It has become a BPM tradition to organize an event for the CEOs of our member companies to celebrate World Environment Day. Again this year in June, BPM invited the CEOs of our member companies for an unforgettable underwater Aquafari excursion at Piscadera Bay. While it was difficult to top previous CEO events, such as horseback riding in the Seru Lora nature area and a sunset cruise of Spanish Water, this year BPM outdid itself by taking our members underwater to enjoy up close Curacao’s beautiful fish & corals. This was not scuba diving or snorkeling, but a fantastic, safe, new way to experience Curacao’s underwater environment: on an eco-friendly, self-propelled submersible scooter! Everyone felt a bit like James Bond while scooting around underwater to depths up to 10 meters. For additional information regarding this underwater adventure, visit www.aquafari.net.
Our CEOs also had the opportunity to paddle kayaks around Piscadera Bay for a relaxing trip while learning about the importance of mangroves from Ryan de Jongh. Afterwards there was a very informative tour of Caribbean Research and Management of Biodiversity (CARMABI) Foundation’s new research building and facilities was conducted by CARMABI’s director, Paul Stockermans. The event ended with a social, relaxing happy hour while watching the sunset. We all can’t wait for next year’s CEO event!
