Recycling & Hazardous Waste Management

November 13 @ 12:00 pm 3:00 pm UTC+0

What types of wastes can I recycle in Curacao? What options are there for disposing of hazardous wastes locally? Why is responsible waste management important for tourism? What effect does plastic have on our oceans?

You’re invited to attend a free waste management event organized by the Curacao Business Council for Sustainable Development (BPM – Bedrijven Platform Milieu) to get answers to all these questions and much more information.

  • When:      Friday, November 13, 2020
  • Time:       12:00 – 15:00
  • Location:  Selikor’s head office, Parera (mask required)
  • Participation via on-line video conference also possible
  • Language: English

Thanks to Selikor’s gracious sponsoring, this event is free of charge and a light lunch is included (if attending in person).

Find out about the more than 15 companies in Curacao that accept more than 20 types of waste for recycling!

In addition, CHATA will give a presentation about the importance of waste management for the tourism sector and Ms. Camila de Conto will talk about her voyage on a sailing ship studying the effects of (micro) plastics pollution in the ocean.

During part two of the event you will also receive information about Selikor’s new incinerator that destroys hazardous and other special wastes.
Due to COVID restrictions, only 30 seats are available at Selikor on a first come, first served basis, so REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. Click HERE to register.
At Selikor, wearing a mask is required at all times, so please bring your own mask.
