We are pleased to invite you to a conference on rainwater harvesting and watershed management, with special keynote speaker Dr. Lystra Fletcher, representative from the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization.Curaçao has a semi-arid climate and the availability of sufficient amounts of high-quality water is a constant challenge. Under these circumstances, rainwater harvesting is a wise and necessary alternative to costly drinking water, offering new perspectives for local agriculture, farming & home planting and for a more sustainable society. Moreover, rainwater saves residents money when used in households.
Fundashon TAS (Tera, Awa, Simia), the University of Curaçao and BPM are organizing a 1.5 day conference on this topic.
Fundashon TAS (founded in 1998) is a non-profit, non-governmental,
volunteer organization that promotes sustainable, environmentally friendly systems for medium and small agricultural centers.The foundation focuses mainly on initiatives that strive to provide food security for local needs while taking into account Curaçao’s scarce fertile soil and water. The foundation also promotes gardening for personal use.
